A field service mechanic is only as effective as the vehicle they arrive in. Sent to a remote site without the right tooling, diagnostic hardware or common parts, they lose the day and the machine stays down — and the person who takes the blame is usually the mechanic, who knows perfectly well the problem was the equipment.
